Why You’ll Still Find Us at the Farmers’ Market — Even with a Restaurant

Before there was a bistro… before the tables were set, before the sign went up, and long before the first Bœuf Bourguignon was plated… there were market mornings.
If you’ve ever visited a French village on a Saturday, you understand: the farmers’ market isn’t just about buying food. It’s about connection. It’s where neighbors greet one another by name, where bakers and farmers know their customers’ stories, and where good ingredients and even better conversations are gathered for the week ahead.
When we moved from France to Los Angeles, we didn’t bring a restaurant with us — not right away. We brought baskets of pastries. Handwritten menus. Classic recipes and the desire to share them. We brought the spirit of the market, because it’s where our story began.
And while Délices du Chef has grown — from farmers' markets to a restaurant where we serve breakfast, lunch, and apéritif — there’s one thing we’ve never outgrown: The desire to stay close to our customers.
That’s why you’ll still find us, every week, in markets all over Los Angeles County.

We believe good food should be easy to enjoy. Whether you live near Brentwood or Century City, Calabasas or Torrance, we want to bring the flavors of France a little closer to you. For those who can’t always make it to the café-bistro, or for those who simply love the tradition of a sunny weekend stroll through a market, we’re there. Rain or shine (but preferably shine), with fresh pastries, quiches, savory specialties, and a warm HelloBonjour.
These markets aren’t just about convenience. They’re about connection. We’ve watched

children grow up one pain au chocolat at a time. We’ve met couples planning their weddings and friends planning picnics. We’ve shared stories, recipes, and little pieces of France across folding tables and paper bags.
That’s something we cherish. It’s something we hope you feel every time you visit.
